Description
The Shadow-Born, Tel'lmaltath, is the counterpart of the power that common people usually associate with the Creator himself. In Nehrim, people believe in the Creator and six other gods, Nehrim:the Light-Born. These gods do exist and they do have some extraordinary powers, they are not just a figment of people's imagination.

The Predestination of the Tel'lmaltath
Description
The advent of the Shadow God, the one who will dare and manage to dethrone Nehrim:the Light-Born is written in the Predestination of Tel'lmaltath. Merzul is convinced that there is only one person who can fulfil the Predestination, that is Nehrim:Narathzul Arantheal.
The Predestination
The whole text of the predestination is recited during the main quest Nehrim:The Forgotten Fortress by Nehrim:Narathzul Arantheal's father, Nehrim:Tealor Arantheal:
Risen from the simple lap of the world, not of high class, unclean blood, a God of the shadow, Tel'Imaltath, awakens.
His existence, justified to establish an equilibrium; his goal, to defeat the Highest. Creating a balance for the benefit of all, disregarding the victims, their value was insignificant.
He will not argue for the evil, nor will he make the good yield; these are two brothers, their hands extended, a shadow and a light, no opposition.
On blood and ashes shall he build the rule of man, exalted and free; the work that is created shall be kept in glory until the true ruler takes his toll.
One is still needed to reach the goal, the Fallen, the so called Helper. Although collapsed under trickery, the world's salvation shall be his betrayal.
And so the Battle of the Last rages in dispute, conjuring the storm that shall destroy, and Tel'Imaltath, Shadow Messenger, remaining alone.

- Much about the Shadow God is explained during the second encounter with Merzul, at Arcane Sanctum.
- It is never explained how Arkt became a Shadow God or who was the Shadow God who helped him defeat Fate's envoy. However, we can read about another Shadow God who killed previous Light-Born Gods in some ancient diaries at the end of the main quest.
