The History of the Death Blade

by Mymophonus

Three hundred years ago, when Ermus was appointed king's blacksmith and henceforth crafted the king's weapons, he not only forged swords but also a plan to develop a weapon that combined his skill and wickedness. This blade was meant to be the counterpart of the Master Blade, brutal, deadly yes, but this blade was meant to be used for good will. So, for years, Ermus collected the best ores that could be found in the land, from the mines beneath Black Maisia. Little did he know that this ore was cursed.

He forged the blade and yet it was almost impossible for him to work it with the blacksmith's hammer, the blade seemed to push him away. After weeks he finally managed to finish the blade, put on his armor, held the sword. Suddenly he felt stronger than ever in his life.

Years passed and the sword still had no scratches, no dents and not even the blood of its victims seemed to stick to it. But over the years, it blew Ermus's mind and forced him to do things he never would have dared.

He again waited until it was time to deliver the royal arms, stormed into the throne room and murdered the king by stabbing him in the throat.

Ermus went insane and was struck down by a brave soldier just a few days later. The magicians from the Arzador monastery hid the sword, from now on called the Death Blade, in a safe place, and it is considered untraceable to this day.
