A Numinos is an object that can be placed on the center of a Beacon. The object is used to focus all the energy coming from the beacon, and without it the energy is scattered and initiates the Cleansing. The only known Numinos is the Word of the Dead filled with the essence of a High One, which banishes all High Ones from reality when activated, thus ending The Cycle.
