Walkthrough

A quick guide how to get to the "Flower" and back:

  • In the Soulforge, level 1, there is a room to the east with a door labeled "The Soulforge" (see map).
  • The door which leads to that room from the west cannot be opened at that stage of the game. Ignore it and go to the room with a balcony that is located directly south of the room with the door labeled "The Soulforge".
  • Jump down the balcony (image 1 of the slideshow above). Now you are in the room with a statue and a button.
  • Press the button and the statue will rise. A stairway leads down to the door labeled "The Soulforge" (image 2 of the slideshow above).
  • You will now get to level 2 of the Soulforge. The stairs in front of you cannot be raised, so jump down into a room with five ban traps - don't touch them! There are 3 Lich Warriors in a small room to the north and another three in a room to the south (see map).
  • Defeat the Liches. Now press the button in the small northern room. In the west of the big room, stairs will be raised.
  • Press the button in the small southern room and a door on top of these stairs will be raised. Now you can go through a door to the room with the Soul Flayer (see map).
  • A journal entry will inform you that "this must be The Flower".
  • Do the jump'n'run to get to the top balcony of the room. There is a button that will raise the stone cage in the center of the room under which the Soul Flayer is hidden.
  • Use arrows, a telekinesis spell or a destruction spell to throw the Soul Flayer down from the pillar. You can pick it up at the bottom of the room.
  • If you don't want to do the deadly jump'n'run, open the console, type "tcl" and "levitate" up to the stone cage. You can have a peek underneath and take the Soul Flayer.
  • "Levitate" down again, open the console again and type "tcl".
  • Either way, in the moment you take the Soul Flayer, a journal entry will appear: "At last I hold the Soulflayer back in my hands. Now I need to get out of here."
  • Head back to the room with the 5 ban traps. The stairs to the east are now rising and you can go back to level 1.
  • As soon as you enter the room with the statue, the door to the east will open and a soul guard will appear (image 3 of the slideshow above).

Do not enhance Soulkeeper armour. Armour must be as found for the quest to update.

Stage End Q Journal Entry
5 Unknown figures cast me with an abjuration spell when I awoke from my vision, and took me into a vault, except of the soul swords they left me my equipment. I still have to find out who these creatures are and why they want the swords. In any case I must get out of this hole first.
10 The circle in front of me looks like the spell that the mages used before taking me out of action. These mages cannot be far. I should be more careful from now on and must not let them catch me.
20 I found the documentation of the soul swords’ fates, which Arantheal and I had waged against the gods and the Eliath. Therefore it seems that the guards are the creators of the swords, who have reclaimed the blades, now unload them because they assume a risk. The vision I experienced in the shadow of the citadel had been manipulated by them. They wanted to hold me out, to take the swords easily from me.
25 I found the unloaded sword of Goth in the hall of the great soul stone, but from the Soulflayer there is no trace - he should be kept elsewhere. I'll have to browse through these vaults for more signs. But it would not surprise me if there was some kind of storage room, where I'll find the Soulflayer.
26 The forge. It would certainly be beneficial to lend me some of the armor. When I wear the armor of the soul guards, I'll probably be less suspiciously eyed.
30 I found a part of the armor of the soul keepers. When I wear all parts, the guards will see me as one of them so I can move freely in the vaults of this temple. But until this happens I have to act auricularly.
35 I could find all five parts of the soul keeper armor. Once I wear all five parts of armor, the keepers will not recognize me and I can do the search for the Soulflayer. Nevertheless, I should be careful.
40 The Soulflayer is not in the storage room of the temple. It was taken to a hall called The Flower, where it should be investigated further. Another interesting note from the document says: "If the sword will be destroyed in its current condition, so all souls trapped inside it will escape.". Destroying the sword could be my salvation.
45 This must be The Flower. The sword is definitely in the center up there.
50 At last I hold the Soulflayer back in my hands. Now I need to get out of here.
60 When I came out of the storage room with the Soulflayer, I walked into a trap. A soul guard took the Soulflayer and disappeared in the direction of the unloading stone. I'm stuck again.
70 A brightly shining being floated up to me and freed me from my prison. Then it disappeared. The way is free, I must get to the unloading stone and take the sword from the guards before the souls get unloaded.
45 The chamber of soul unloading is destroyed. The unloading of the Soulflayer has already been done before, but apparently the procedure failed and broke large parts of the soul stone. Also, the soul keepers have disappeared without a trace. Does this all have to do with the being of light, which has cleared the way for me? Anyway, this is a good opportunity for me to disappear.
80 End I have left the halls of the soul keepers behind me.
